Privacy Policy

This policy describes information handled by the StreamCatcher extension and companion website. Video processing and website diagnostics are separate activities, explained below.

Video detection and processing

The extension reads media requests on supported pages to detect video streams. It passes the selected stream URL, source page information, and recording session information to the companion web app so it can download or record the video. Video processing takes place in your browser. Media is requested from its source, and recorded video is transferred between the source tab and the web app through the extension. StreamCatcher does not upload your video files to a video-processing server.

Storage on your device

The extension stores detection preferences and session information in browser storage. The website stores preferences such as theme and download settings locally. Downloads and some recordings use temporary browser files; completed files are saved through your browser. Clearing site data can remove settings and temporary work, so finish active downloads and recordings first.

Website analytics

The website loads Umami Cloud to measure website usage, such as page visits, referrers, and browser or device information. This is separate from the extension's video detection. For information about the service's data handling, see Umami's privacy policy.

Error diagnostics and session replay

The web app uses Sentry for error reports, performance monitoring, diagnostic logs, and sampled session replays. Reports can include browser information, page and stream URLs, download status, retry details, and errors. Session replay can include visible page text and interactions; media is blocked from replay capture. These diagnostics help investigate failed downloads and other problems. Feedback you submit

The Feedback form sends the name, optional email address, selected category, and message you provide through Web3Forms so your report or suggestion can be delivered. Do not include passwords, private media links, or access tokens. See Web3Forms' privacy policy.

Hosting and third-party requests

The website's hosting and service providers receive information needed to serve requests, such as an IP address and browser information, and may maintain operational logs. Source websites receive the media requests needed for your download. External store and support links take you to services with their own privacy policies.

Advertising

This website loads Google AdSense. Google and its advertising partners may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, and other identifiers to provide and measure advertising, depending on the applicable settings and consent choices. Google explains its advertising data practices in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use its services.

Your choices and contact

You can remove the extension, adjust its site permissions, and clear local website data in your browser.
