StreamCatcher is a free browser extension and companion web app for downloading and recording supported web videos.
Two parts that work together
The extension detects supported media on a page and offers download and recording controls. This website opens a workspace for the selected video, shows progress, and helps you save the result. You can also use the guides here before installing anything.
Built for practical, permitted uses
Save a copy of your own published video, keep learning material its creator allows you to download, or record a broadcast you have permission to keep. Direct downloads support HLS and MP4 sources. Stream Capture and Tab Record provide other options for compatible players.
Clear about its limits
StreamCatcher does not support every website. Protected content and YouTube are not supported. Quality, available audio, and recording compatibility depend on the source and your browser. No saving mode removes content protection or replaces permission from the content owner.
Processing and privacy
Video processing runs in your browser, using your device’s storage and processing power. The website uses services for usage analytics, error diagnostics, and feedback. The Privacy Policy explains those separately from video processing.
